BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Wally Craver has been a registered psychologist in British Columbia since 1988. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University
of Alberta in 1970. Dr. Craver has extensive experience working in a variety of health care settings as both a clinical
psychologist (including as an administrator and consultant in hospital education and research) and as a Department Head
at the University of Alberta Hospital. During this period he has maintained a private practice, provided counseling
services to clients with coverage through employee assistance programs for more than 14 years as well as supervising
Ph.D. candidates in Psychology at the University of Victoria.
Dr. Craver has a particular interest in work place issues and critical incident management. He has spent a great deal
of time developing and understanding of issues related to men and women in the work place. As an administrator and
psychologist he worked with Human Resources to provide seminars and interventions for employee crisis. Seminars
to staff included coaching, middle management issues, difficult employees and personnel conflicts that interfere
with departmental activities.
A majority of Dr. Craver's private practice involves management of stress and anxiety; child, family and marital
relationships; depression and childhood abuse. He is also actively involved with performance enhancement for elite
athletes and utilization of biofeedback for mind/body related problems.
And last, but not least, Wally is married to Cheryl. He has two children from his first marriage and happily
added two more when he remarried. He is proud Papa to two grandsons who thought this website
should be called papawally.com!
